Delivery Modes

Telecourses (TC)
Telecourses are college level courses taken for college credit, but instead of attending class, students view the lessons in the convenience of their own homes. Televised lessons are available as videotape sets which can be checked out for the semester.  In some cases, courses can also be viewed on KETC-TV Channel 9 (PBS) or local cable stations. Courses consist of the televised lessons, text book assignments, study guides, and in some cases, use of the Internet.

Technology Requirements:
Personal access to a television set and VHS cassette player in good working order.

Internet Courses (WB)
In Internet courses, students and instructors use the World Wide Web (WWW) for the distribution of learning materials, for communication, and for student assessment. These courses often inclued Tele-Webcourses ( a misture of delivery technologies, such as VHS, CD-ROM, DVD, the World Wide Web, or a combinations of two or more of these technologies). They simulate a classroom experience without having to meet at the same time or location.

Technology Requirements:
Personal access to a computer (printer optional, but recommended) connected to the WWW and a current version of Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer installed. Minimum specifications include: Access to a current, multimedia capable (DVD or CD-ROM and sound) computer connected to the WWW, and a recent version of Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer. To be sure you have the right browser version, use the Browser Tuneup
