Student
Admissions
Admission
to the institution offering credit (host institution) is required prior to
registration. It is
possible that a student may be attempting credit hours at more than one
institution in the same term. In this case, the student must be admitted to each
of the schools, prior to registration. If the student is degree seeking, one
of the GCCC institutions should be selected as the home institution. The
home institution provides academic advising for the student and grants their degree.
The
application for admission may be completed on-line with each institution. Some
institutions require a one-time application fee. Please select the school
application choice by clicking on one of the four schools below.

Financial
Aid
The Gateway Consortium does not award financial aid. However, financial aid is available to those students who qualify through their "home", degree-granting institution. Request financial aid when registering for classes. More information can be obtained by contacting the financial aid office
at each participating college.
Course
Registration
Admission
to a college is required before registration. On-line admission forms are
found above. The
courses offered by the GCCC are listed on the Courses page and also
on each institution's registration form. Please be aware that each institution has different registration deadlines, payment due dates and refund policies. It is the student's responsibility to abide by each institution's requirements. Links to each institution registration forms are below,

Drop Form
Please
be aware that each institution has different refund policies based on the length
of the courses. Please contact the
admissions/registration office
at the appropriate institution to learn more about
their policies.
Academic Advising
Students
must meet the degree requirements of their home institution. Students are
encouraged to use their College Catalog to learn about degree requirements.
A course equivalency matrix is provided to
aid in planning. Students using the matrix should always consult with an
advisor from their degree granting (home) college before taking a course for
transfer. Please click on one of the links below to learn more about academic advising
opportunities through the GCCC colleges.

Examination/Assessment
Assessment
Services (on campus):
The institutions in the GCCC offer local proctor services that typically provide the testing for
students enrolled in distance learning courses. The examination
process for distance learning courses is typically explained
during the orientation session or in the course materials. Students taking examinations will
often be
required to present a picture I.D. with their signature for proof of
identification.
Online Testing: Many courses provide online testing components.
These components allow students to complete some or all of their assessment process online. Please refer to the
instructor and the course syllabus for specific guidelines concerning online
testing.
Assessment Services (approved off campus): Certain courses may allow for off-campus assessment services in which a student is permitted to take
examinations at an approved off-campus assessment center site (local
proctor). In this situation, the student would follow the hours of
operation and testing schedule of the off-campus assessment center. Students are expected to
communicate early in the course with their instructor to notify them of the need
for a local
proctor. The host college reserves the right to reject a local proctor and
off-site proctored testing. The student
should consult with the instructor of the course and the course syllabus for
specific details.
Orientation
Sessions
As
shown in the listing of courses, most distance learning
classes have an orientation component that
provides students with an overview of the course and a course syllabus or
outline. These sessions provide an opportunity for faculty to provide
greater detail on course requirements. Students will have an opportunity to meet their instructor and have
their questions answered regarding specific course information. Orientation times can be
found in the course listings. Students outside of a host college's service
area may have difficulty making it to an orientation. In this case, alternative arrangements for orientations must be approved by the course instructor.
